Mr. Felly recently moved to Oregon to be near his family and prior to that had lived in Largo, Florida since his retirement in 1976. before that time he had lived in Madison, Wisconsin for most of his life. He was born on July 9, 1913, in Madison the oldest of Albert H. "Chili Al" and Lydia Felly's three children. He was married for 57 years to Catherine Strong "Kay" Felly, who had preceded him in death on November 12, 2000. Longtime Madisonians will remember Mr. Felly as the proprietor of Felly's Iron Lantern Restaurant on South Park Street for many years, which achieved national recognition from both McCall's magazine and Duncan Hines as an outstanding eating place. After selling his business in 1957, Mr. Felly joined Realty Associates and enjoyed success in the real estate business until his retirement in 1976.

A lifelong ardent golfer, Mr. Felly was a charter member of the Nakoma Country Club since the 1940's. After the Fellys moved Largo, Florida, they belonged to Fairway Village Golf Course for many years. Mr. Felly was a 32nd degree Mason of Hiram Lodge #50, a member of the Zor Temple Shrine, the Scottish Rite Bodies, and was a lifetime member of the Elks Club. In years past he also had been active in the Lions Club International and the Westside Businessmen's Association.

Mr. Felly is survived by his beloved children, Kirk S. (Karen) Felly of St. Louis, Missouri and Sue Ann F. (Mrs. Richard LePage of Grants Pass, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Lance c. (Judie) Felly of Hesperia, California, on Sunday march 4, 2001, at the age of 62. He is also mourned by his brother, Albert H. (Eadie) Felly of Green Valley, Arizona and Mineral Point, Wisconsin, founder of former owner of Felly's Flower Shops; his sister, Alberta (Mrs. Verdine) Johnson of Madison; and also his sister-in-law, Mary (Mrs. Irving C.) Collins and Mrs. Mary Beth Strong, both of Stoughton, Wisconsin. Mr. Felly had six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He will also be fondly remembered and missed by his many nieces and nephews as well. A Memorial Service and interment in the Felly Family plot at Roselawn Memorial Park in Madison will be by private arrangement. Memorials may be made to the Shrine Children's Hospital . The Hillcrest Mortuary in Medford, Oregon has assisted the family with arrangements.
