Avalanche Journal, Lubbock, Texas, Sunday, April 16, 1944, Page 18, Col. 2: Word has been received by Mrs. Elenora Aycock of Crosbyton that her son, 2nd Lt. T. P. Aycock, is missing in action over Germany since March 18. Lt. Aycock was a bombardier on a Flying Fortress and had been overseas since last October. He had received the Air Medical some time ago for completing ten missions. Lt. Aycock was a student at Lubbock Junior high in 1930-32 and was a member of the Cowboys' football team.

Avalanche Journal, Lubbock, Texas, Sunday, May 14, 1944, Page 22, Col. 4: Memorial services for 1st Lt. T. P. Aycock, son of Mrs. Eleanora Aycock of Crosbyton, are to be held today at 3 o'clock in the Methodist church, at Rosebud. Mrs. Aycock recently received a telegram from the War department that Lt. Aycock was killed in action over Germany on March 18, 1944. He was bombardier on a Flying Fortress and was on his 23rd mission. He had been overseas since September, 1943. Lt. Aycock finished Childress Bombardier school with the first graduating class in May, 1943. From there he was sent to Walla Walla, Wash., for further training before going overseas. He lived in Lubbock in 1930 to June 1932 where he was enrolled in Lubbock Junior High school. He was a member of the Cowboy football team. Lt. Aycock was the only brother of Mrs. Don Leach and Mrs. Cary Lodal, both of Crosbytown.
