Charles Albert Kirkpatrick, Jr. was born 2 April 1912 at Fort Madison, Lee County, Iowa. He married first Dorothy Ellen McGann, who was born 9 April 1915. He married second, Gladys B. Morris.

Born April 2, 1912, at Fort Madison, he married Dorothy McGann on June 29, 1937. She died in 1969. He married Gladys Morris on Aug. 15, 1970 at Cedar Rapids. Mr. Kirkpatrick was an electronics test technician at Rockwell-Collins for several years prior to retirement in 1976, and was a member of the Miniature World Club and IBEW. He served in the Navy during World War II. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Dorothy Kelly of North Liberty and Ellen Amsden of Hiawatha; three sons, Chuck and William, both of Cedar Rapids and David of Milwaukee; a stepdaughter, Linda Morris of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Leila Whitmarsh of Creston; a brother, David of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and 14 grandchildren. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, by the Rev. Nadim Saikaly of Olivet Presbyterian Church. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Hanford Post 5. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 2 to 9 p.m. today or at the chapel after noon Saturday. The casket will be opened after the service. Memorial donations can be made to Camp Courageous, PO Box 455, Monticello, Iowa 52310.
