Virginia G Fry
(31 Mar 1917 - 17 Jan 2007)
The Press Democrat, Santa Rosa, California, Friday, February 2, 2007: Went home peacefully to be with her Lord on January 17, 2007. Gini was born in Seattle, WA on March 31, 1917 as a 31/2 pound twin. Although she started small, she called herself a fightin' Scot who overcame life's obstacles and always loved and cared about other people. Gini grew up in Seattle with her twin brother, Gordon, and younger brother, Larry, who both prreceded her in death. It was also the place where she graduated from high school, worked, and later married Max McLallin in 1955. They lived in San Jose, CA, and also in Indiana and Oregon, but Santa Rosa was where they settled and lived out the rest of their years, and where Gini was a resident for over 30 years. Although she had no children of her own, she became "Gram Gini" to many and especially to the Wilkersons, whom she was family with for over 25 years. Gini left behind many lifetime friends and family who adored her. She will be remembered as friendly Gini who reached out to others, sent us cards, prayed for us, smiled and laughed with us. We will greatly miss her. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at the Leisure Mobile Home Park Clubhouse, 2185 Occidental Road, Santa Rosa. We ask that instead of flowers, donations be made to a Native American mission or a children's orphanage, both which carried a special place in Gini's heart.
