On the 1930 U. S. Census of Moline, Rock Island Co., Illinois, Lake appears with his wife Fredrica age 42. She was 33 when first married. Lake states he was 26 when first married. They have a son Robert who is 2 2/12 years old. Lake is working as a stock keeper in an elevator company.

Sympson, 78, Carthage, former resident of Fort Madison, Iowa, died at 9:52 p.m. Sunday in Memorial hospital. The son of Crittendon , and Clara Kirkpatrick Sympson, he was born at Carthage, June 6, 1883. On Oct. 4, 1922, he was married to Frederica McDougal at Chariton, Iowa. The couple made their home in Fort Madison for a number of years where he was a guard at the Iowa State Penitentiary. They later moved to Dallas City at which time he was employed at the Iowa Ordinance Plant. Upon his retirement they moved to Carthage. Mr. Sympson was a member of the Carthage Methodist church, Stella Lodge No.440 AF & AM, Fort Madison, a member of Royal Arch Masons and Past Knight Templar. Besides his widow he is survived by a son, Dr. Robert F. Sympson all of Springfield; Mrs. Carr Parker, Buffalo, N. Y.; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Kilgore Memorial Home at Carthage. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery at Fort Madison.
