Gillham, 70, of Winchester, died at 1:40 a.m. Friday at Passavant hospital where he had been a patient since Feb. 28. Mr. Gillham, who was retired, taught in Scott county schools for 25 years. He served as commissioner for the Abraham Lincoln Council, Boy Scouts of America, was a member of Winchester OES and a member for 44 years of the Masonic Lodge in Exeter.
He was born in Scott county Aug. 22, 1894, son of James Edward and Emily Jones Gillham. He leaves his wife, the former Mary Northern [Nothern], and the following sisters and brothers: Miss Maude Gillham, Winchester; Mrs. Edwin LaKamp, Chapin; Gerald and Ralph Gillham, Jacksonville; and Lawrence Gillham, Winchester. A sister preceded him in death.
The body is at the Woodcock Funeral Home where the family will meet friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. The Exeter Lodge will conduct Masonic Rites at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Mar[print missing from paper] Chaney officiating. Interment will be in Gillham cemetery.
