Posted at findagrave.com: Thoda Furman Kirkpatrick, 71, 1602 5th Avenue SW, died Friday at 11 a.m. at a local hospital. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Guntharp Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. W.K. Stephenson officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Evelyn Kirkpatrick; one daughter, Mrs. Jack Lyle, Decatur; a son, W.R. Kirkpatrick, Huntsville; two granddaughters, a sister, Mrs. Bill Turner, Meridian, Miss; one brother, Eudell Kirkpatrick, New Albany, Miss. Active pallbearers will include Murray Woodard, Billy Hodge, Jimmy Kirby, Salvin Asherbranner, Tommy Hobbs, Bill Ridgeway, Roger Allen and Preston Baggett. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Denham, Dr. G.H. Nungester, Joe McPherson, L.E. Powell and Elmer Oexner. The body will remain at the funeral home until time for services. Kirkpatrick was recently retired from Mutual Savings Life Insurance after 23 years. Decatur Daily, April 13, 1968.
