Cornelius Franklin Kirkpatrick, the seventh child of Samuel and Margaret Kirkpatrick, was born in Mississippi on 23 August 1863 and died 5 April 1936. He married in December 1890 Adelia Kilgo who was born in Mississippi in 1872 and died on 4 September 1956.

From the Times-Picyune newspaper of April 7, 1936, list of dead in the Tupelo Tornado shows Frank Kirkpatrick. The tornado was the 4th deadliest in American history, over 200 people died between April 5-7, 1936.
