On the 1870 U. S. Census of Leatherwood, Adair Co., Kentucky, Johnson Kilman, age 40, born in Tennessee appears with his wife Susan and children William A., Cassio E., Jenette C., Laura E., John J. and James R. Johnson is a farmer. Susan and all the children were born in Kentucky.

On the 1880 U. S. Census of Kaufman Co., Texas.

On the 1900 U. S. Census of Ft. Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas, Johnson Kilman appears with his wife Susan. He was born Feb. 1830 and she was born Jan. 1829. They have been married 47 years. They both state they were born in Kentucky. He works as a day laborer. Susan states she has had 0 children and 0 living. This appears to be wrong. This census was taken on 2 June 1900.
