Mrs. Huldah Parrott

Mrs. Huldah Louisa Parrott died February 13 at the home of her son, Godfrey C. Parrott, in this city fifteen days before her 81st birthday which would have been on February 28. She had been ill for several months, suffering from a heart ailment and complications. She was born in this county in 1866, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Godfrey Jackson. She was united in marriage with Mr. William McDonald and to this union, one son, Ben H. McDonald, was born. Several years after the death of her husband, she was married to Mr. John T. Parrott and to this union four children were born, namely Mary Maude, Godfrey C., Lucille and Kermit.

Approximately forty years ago she became a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and remained a member until her death. Mrs. Parrott spent most of her life in this county where she was well known and was loved by a wide circle of friends and relatives.

Funeral Services were conducted at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church at 10 o'clock Sunday morning, February 16, with Reg. H. C. Chiles, pastor of the Barbourville Baptist Church and Rev. Tip Jordan officiating. Interment was in the family cemetery with the Hopper Funeral Home. The pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were her nephews.

Mrs. Parrott is survived by her five children. Mr. Ben H. McDonald, Corbin; Mrs. Fielding Cress, Holton, Kansas; Mr. Godfrey C. Parrott, city; Mrs. Charles E. Willis, Burgin, Kentucky; and Mr. Tip Bingham, Cannon, Kentucky; three brothers, Mr. Asa Jackson, Cannon; Mr. Grover Jackson, Butler, Kentucky; and Mr. James M. Jackson, Chula Vista, California; three step-sons, Mr. Charlie Parrott, Tinsley; Mr. Jesse Parrott, Bailey Switch; and Mr. James F. Parrott, Corbin; by eighteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
