John Thomas Parrott was born 9 July 1845 in Kentucky, and died 13 February 1916 in Knox County, Kentucky. He married 1) Susan Witt, 7 June 1868 in Knox County. Susan was born Abt. 1846 in Kentucky, and died Bef. 1896, presumably in Kentucky. John married 2) Louisa Mahulda Jackson Abt. 1895 in Knox County, Kentucky; daughter of Godfrey Jackson and Nancy Cress. She was born 28 February 1864 in Lee County, Virginia; and died 13 February 1947 in Knox County, Kentucky.

On the 1910 U. S. Census of Barbourville, Knox Co., Kentucky, John T. Parrott appears with his wife Mahulda and children Mary W. or M., Godfrey C. , Lucy E. and Edith C. John T. is a farmer. John and Mahulda have been married 14 years. Mahulda is the mother of 5 all of whom are currently living. This is a second marriage for both John T. and Mahulda.
John was buried in February 1916, Parrott Cemetery, Barbourville, Knox County, Kentucky. John died of stomach cancer.

There were four children born to John & Louisa Parrott.

Last Sunday Mr. John Thomas Parrott one of the county's best citizens died at his home, on Parrott Branch, about four miles north of Barbourville, with a complication of diseases. Mr. Parrott was 71 years old and been married twice his first marriage to Susan Witt, to them were born five sons and one daughter. The last marriage was to Hulda Jackson, and this union were born three daughters and one son. He was a member of the Baptist Church, and was a servant to the brethren of his church, a true friend to all he knew and was loved and respected by all who knew him. The family has our deepest sympathy in this, their sad and irreparable loss.
