Individual Details

Caroline Jungbluth

(11 Oct 1859 - 26 Jun 1943)

The 1881 Grant County, Wisconsin marriage index (FTM Marriage Index CD #251) shows her original name as Karolina Jungbluth. The Dawson County, Nebraska Marriage Index 1887-1937 shows her marriage name as Caroline Youngblood. Obituary references indicate the name should be Karolina Jungbluth.

According to her grandson, Ron Klein, her name was always known in the family as Caroline Jungbluth Klein. Ron has in his possession the original marriage certificate which shows the name as Karolina Jungbluth, and presented an obituary from an un-noted paper in Iowa that shows her name as Caroline. Since the family convention was to show her name as Caroline, we will use that form here.

Obituary - Unknown Paper

Caroline Jungbluth Klein, daughter of Adam and Christina Jungbluth, was born near Waupesha County, Wisconsin, October 11, 1958 (1858) and passed away June 26, 1942, at the home of her son, Fred Klein at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 15 days. She was united in marriage to George Klein on October 25, 1881, and to this union were born nine children, five boys and four girls. Her husband, a son, and daughter preceded her in death.
With the hardships of early pioneer life she brought up her children to honorable manhood and womanhood and was a neighbor in the broader sense of the word and was active in church work when health permitted. She joined the United Evangelical church in 1885 and lived a devoted Christian life.
She leaves to mourn seven children, all but two being able to attend the funeral, Mrs. Clara Loomis of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and Mrs. Anna Casper of Fenamore, Wisconsin. The others are, Louis of Callaway, Nebraska; Mrs. Edith Richie, Fairmont, Nebraska; Fred of Hamburg; George of Lexington, Nebraska; and Lawrence of Hebron, Nebraska. She also leaves twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren and one brother, George Jungbluth of Lancaster, Wisconsin.
Funeral services were held in the Baptist church Tuesday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. George Hink, assisted by the Rev. J. M. Zook of Tabor, and internment was made in the cemetery at Tabor.
