Shepherd, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away at Emeritus at Bear Creek on July 11, 2011, at the age of 90. Marie was born on October 18, 1920 in Lincoln Park, Nebraska, a daughter of the late Gideon and Hettie Titus Swick. Marie's hobbies were sewing, beading, crocheting and volunteering her time for special interest. Marie loved her family and will be missed by all that knew here. She married her husband of 46 years, Charles F. Shepherd, and together raised their two children. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1996. She is survived by her son, Chuck Shepherd and his wife Betty and by her daughter Charlotte Shepherd and her husband John. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald Swick and by 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Blunt Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Avenue in Colorado Springs. Private inurnment will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Rock of Ages Lutheran Church.
