The Choteau Acantha, Choteau, Montana, April 17, 1969, Page 5: Rites Held Tuesday For Mrs. A. Lathrop. Mrs. Ada Lathrop, 93, Conrad, died Sunday at the Pioneer House in Conrad. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Conrad with burial in the Dutton cemetery. She was Born in Platteville, Wis., Aug. 28, 1875 and Married W. R. Lathrop in 1891. They came to Montana in 1913 and moved to Dutton in 1915 were they established the Dutton Sentinel which they published for 25 years. They retired in 1943 and moved to Conrad. He died in 1948. Survivors include two sons, Paul of Conrad and William of Seattle, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Wilma Hays, Conrad, Mrs. Doris Beringer, Collins; 15 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.

(Ada) Lathrop, 92. Mrs. Lathrop had been in poor health for the past year and had been confined in a nursing home in Conrad. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the Wyse Funeral Chapel. Interment was in the family plot at Dutton. The Lathrops started the Dutton Sentinel in Dutton in the pioneer days and operated the paper until their retirement in 1950. Mrs. Lathrop is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Wilma Hayes, Conrad and Mrs. Doris Beringer, Collins; two sons, Bill of Seattle and Paul of Conrad.
