Ruble, well-known trap wing shot, died today. Mr. Ruble had a large acquaintance in Rockford. He frequently participated in the tournaments arranged by the Rockford Gun club and his presence was always welcomed by the members. The announcement of his death comes as a shock to his Rockford friends.

Daily Register Gazette, Rockford, Illinois, Monday, December 18, 1899, Page 1, Col. 6: The funeral of the late John Ruble, who died on Friday, was held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the home of Mrs. Packard, four miles west of Beloit. Mrs. Packard is a sister of the deceased.
