He was born Aug. 24, 1887, in Unionville, Mo. and married Helen Lyles in Wallace, Idaho Dec. 30, 1925. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, where they farmed until coming to Milton-Freewater in 1951. Besides his wife at the home, Hunter is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Brunell (Letha) Davis of Des Moines, Iowa, Miss Lela Hunter of Marshall, Co. and Mrs. Edward (Marjorie) Short of Osceola, Iowa, a son, Carroll Hunter of Jewell, Iowa, a step-son, Vernon Lyles of Coquille, Ore., a sister Mrs. Ida Henry of Des Moines, Iowa; six grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Munselle Rhodes chapel with Rev. George Knox of the First Christian Church officiating.
