Mrs. Valentine was a native of Coulterville, Ill. She lived in Modesto 34 years. She was a licensed vocational nurse for St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis for 22 years. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and past president of American Legion Post 74 Auxiliary. She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America and Modesto Senior Citizens. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Smith of Phoenixville, Pa.; stepdaughter, Lana V. Holland of Irving, Texas; and five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Colonial Chapel at Franklin and Downs. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
