Meredith, a resident of this community for more than 40 years, died Saturday afternoon at her home, 536 Middlefield road after an illness of almost five years. She was in her 82nd year. Mrs. Meredith was born in Glasgow, Ia., but grew to young womanhood in Mt. Pleasant where she was married in 1886.

Rogers founded the Montezuma Mountain School at Los Gatos, with which he was connected for the rest of his active years. The Merediths moved to Palo Alto in 1907 following the earthquake. Mrs. Meredith was for many years office nurse for Dr. Carl G. Wilson. She was a member of Chapter T of PEO and Palo Alto chapter Order of Eastern Star. Surviving relatives are two sons, Lt. Col. Evan K. Meredith, USA, retired, and Rhys F. Meredith, both of Palo Alto; daughter, Mrs. Durham W. Porter of Palo Alto; seven living grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
