Obituary from Protection Post, Protection, Comanche Co., Kansas, Thursday, September 19, 1974, Front page: Funeral services were held for Floris Glen Hosier Monday, September 16, 2 p.m., at the Baptist Church, Protection. Rev. John Gottman officiated the service. Organist Daisy Maris, accompanied Mrs. Doris Ann Leeper and Mr. Charles Petty as they sang Until Then and Beautiful Isle of Somewhere. Casket bearers were Merle Wait, Don McMillin, Bill Rich, Lawrence Rich, Tommy Jellison and Jay Rich. Interment was in the Protection Cemetery.

Floris Glen Hosier, son of Fanny and Charles Edward Hosier, was born June 14, 1893 in Manchester, Iowa and passed away September 13, 1974 at the age of 81 years. He was married to Agnes Erickson January 31, 1917 and to this union were born four daughters and one son. His wife and a daughter preceded him in death. On April 15, 1945 in Protection, Kansas, he was married to Nellie Holler. They lived in Mountain Grove, Missouri where he was night watchman at the Brown Shoe Co. until he retired. They moved back to Protection and have lived here since and just recently moved into Valley Manor. He was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord with all his heart. He ministered in churches in Missouri and after coming to Protection. His family will cherish the memories of the Bible readings and prayers in the home. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Nellie; three daughters: Helen Lipscomb and her husband Albert, of McClurg, Missouri; Dorothy Bell and her husband Dallas, Beverly Woods and her husband, Connie, all of Mountain Grove, Missouri; one son, Robert, and his wife, Darlene, of Plains, Montana; two stepsons: Edward Holler, Protection; and Albert Holler and his wife, Marjorie, of Topeka; 24 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
