Sidney Lee Carr was born 16 January 1881 at Burlington, Boone County, Missouri. He married Lela Ethel Ellis at Fresno, Fresno County, California on 1 April 1915. She was the daughter of John Gilmore and Mary Lizzie (Witherly) Ellis, and was born at Cormorant, Minnesota, 2 October 1879. Sidney was an electrician and his wife a registered nurse. They were both Methodists. Sidney died in Matagorda County, Texas, in the town of Bay City on 28 February 1967. His wife Lela died in the same place on 8 April 1961. Both are buried at Van Vleck, Texas.

There were two (2) children born of the marriage.
