Dr. David Forest Kirkpatrick, 79, of Lewisville, a pioneer Denton County physician, died at his home in Lewisville Sunday. He was a leader in the profession in the county and had received considerable notice in the past few years as one of the few remaining typical country physicians. He had a large acquaintance and many friends over North Texas, and was a member of the American Medical Association, the Texas State and Denton County Medical Associations.
Funeral services were held in Lewisville at 9:30 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. R. E. Robertson, assisted by Rev. Alvin O. Rue of Mesquite. A large number of Denton relatives and friends attended . He was the brother of the late Mrs. Charlie Wilkins of Denton and a number of nephews and nieces live here.
His wife died several years ago, and surviving children are two sons, R. T. Kirkpatrick of Lewisville and W. D. Kirkpatrick of Cane, and he had two grandsons. Kirkpatrick was born in Nashville, Tenn., May 10, 1860. He had practiced medicine in Denton County 54 years.
