The 3.4 miles stretch of county road on which Bob Temple purchased a farm in 1925 and on which he and his wife lived from 1940, when he retired form public life, until 1976 when they both entered a nursing home in Clarksville, has been officially proclaimed by County Judge Bobby Joe Wilkins as Temple Road, in honor of Mr. Temple's 92nd birthday Feb. 22. He was born and reared in Johnson County and has lived 85 of his 92 years here. Many of the "old timers" remember him when he served as sheriff and collector of Johnson County in the early 20's.
