Johnson, 82, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James Wooten 611 Heaton St., Thursday, 7:45 p.m. of complications. Born in Buckhorn, Ky., Feb. 6, 1869, the son of Granville and Linda Deaton Johnson, he attended Buckhorn schools. He married Eva Amis, who preceded him in death Oct. 22, 1939. He was a famer in Buckhorn until two years ago when he came to Hamilton to make his home with his daughter. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Buckhorn. He leaves one son, Elmer Johnson, Hamilton; one daughter, Mrs. James Wooten; two sisters, Mr. John Moore, Alton, Ky., and Mrs. Martha Amis, Buckhorn, Ky.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from the David Webb and Sons Funeral Home, Ross Ave., and S. D St., Saturday, 10 a.m., with the Rev. Oliver W. Hurst, First Baptist Church, and the Rev. W. A. Fox, New Zion Baptist Church officiating. The body will be taken to Buckhorn, Ky., for burial in the Johnson family cemetery. Friends may call at the Webb Funeral Home Friday after 4 p.m.
