Margaret Elizabeth Morrison

Margaret Elizabeth Morrison, known as "Lizzie", was born 28 March 1840 in Naples, Scott County, Illinois. She married first, William Leslie Humphrey on 14 October 1858. After his death, she married secondly to W. G. McMillan on 28 May 1867 at her parent's home.
There were two (2) children born to the first marriage.
There were five (5) children born to the second marriage.

Mrs. Elizabeth Morrison McMillan, 89, a Nebraska pioneer who heard the historical debates between Lincoln and Stephen A. Douglas, and later attended the emancipator's funeral, died Thursday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. K. Beach, 1008 South Twenty-ninth street. Funeral services will be held today at Locust Grove, Ill., with burial there. Mrs. McMillan a descendant of two of the pioneer families of Illinois, was the daughter of the first white child born in the state. She was baptized by Peter Cartwright, noted circuit rider. Her father, an ardent friend of Abraham Lincoln, took her to hear the famous debate between Douglas and Lincoln. She is survived by four daughters and two sons: Mrs. F. A. Bower, Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Fay Painter, Santa Monica, Cal.; Mrs. H. K. Beach and Mrs. W. V. Van Sant, Omaha; Fred M. McMillan, Kansas City, and H. A. McMillan, Clarinda, Ia. Twenty-four grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren also survive. Eleanor Painter, the singer, is a grandchild.
