The State, Columbia, South Carolina, February 20, 1917, Page 3: Mrs. W. T. Estes. Special to The State. Lowryville, Feb. 19---Mrs. Mary Kirkpatrick Estes, wife of W. T. Estes died at her home in Baton Rouge section Friday at the age of 70 years. The funeral services were conducted at the New Hope Methodist Episcopal church Saturday and the burial occurred in the graveyard of the church. The Rev. Waddy T. Duncan, pastor, officiated. Mrs. Estes was born and reared in the New Hope community. She was a consistent and lifelong member of the New Hope Methodist Episcopal church and was always foremost in all good works. Mrs. Estes is survived by her husband, W. T. Estes, two sons, W. E. Estes and John W. Estes of Chester county; two daughters, Mr. W. H. Lucas and Mrs. W. E. Chalk of Chester county and one sister, Mrs. G. B. Mayfield of Louisiana.
