Found your very interesting site online and thought I'd pass on some information. Margaret A. Kirkpatrick #852 who was born about 1836 in Illinois married John Gray Williams 25 Jan 1855 in Marysville, Yuba County, California. They had one child, Joseph Henry Williams, who was born 8 Aug 1856 in Yuba County and died 31 Jan 1921 in San Francisco. Margaret probably died by 1860 because John is a miner with no wife outside CA and Joseph is with an aunt and uncle in Yuba County. There is no sign of Margaret on the 1860 census.
On the 1880 census for lander, NV, Joseph says that his mother was born in Wisconsin.
