Alice M. Frame, 86, of Lancaster, Minnesota passed away at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock on Monday, December 7, 2015. Alice Sawyer was born November 16, 1929 at Waterloo, Iowa to Howard and Hulda (Rossberg) Sawyer. During the depression she moved with her family to Blackduck, Minnesota then to Hackensack, Minnesota settling in Blind Lake Township. After graduating from Backus High School in 1947 she went on to receive her teachers training at Park Rapids, Minnesota. On June 8, 1948 she was united in marriage to Virgil Clayton Frame. They were blessed with five children. Virgil and Alice farmed most of their life near Backus. They moved to Hibbing, Minnesota when Virgil worked in the mines and spent four years there. In the summer of 1975 they moved to McKinley Township, near Lancaster, and farmed until their retirement in 1987. Virgil passed away on September 24, 2001.
Family members include her sons, Clayton (Janet) Frame, Moorhead, MN, Arnold (Sharyl) Frame, Lancaster, Stanley Frame, Middle River, MN and Jerry (Tracy) Frame, Lancaster; her daughter, Diane (Jerroll) Peterson, Lancaster, MN; grandchildren, Adam, Amber, Dawn, Del, Becky, Roy, Allison, LauRita, Tammy and Michelle; 11 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, sisters, Lorene Hildebran and Doris Larson; and a brother, Edwin Sawyer.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 11, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. in Sion Lutheran Church, Lancaster. Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Garden Cemetery, Lancaster. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service. Rev. Melodi Hagen, presiding. Casket bearers will be Alice's grandchildren.
