Virgil Clayton Frame

He was born in Backus, Minn. on July 6, 1921, the son of Delbert and Lucy (Stanhope) Frame. He grew up in Backus and served with the U.S. Army during WWII.
On June 8, 1948 he was united in marriage to Alice Sawyer at Backus. The couple farmed in Pine River Township of Cass County, Minn. until 1975 when they moved to Lancaster. Virgil and Alice farmed in McKinley Township of Kittson County until 1987 when they retired.
Virgil was a member of the Lancaster American Legion.
Family members include his wife, Alice; four sons, Clayton (Janet) Frame and Arnold (Sharyl) Frame both of Lancaster, Stanley (Nita) Frame, Thief River Falls, and Jerry (Tracy) Frame also of Lancaster; a daughter, Diane (Jerroll) Peterson, Lancaster; 10 grandchildren; and a brother, Vernon (Ethel) Frame, Meridian, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Florin and Kenneth and a sister, Elaine.
Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 28, 2 p.m. in the Sion Lutheran Church, Lancaster. Interment was in Riverview Memorial Garden Cemetery, Lancaster. Pallbearers were Floyd Hewitt, Leon Olson, Roy Frame, Delbert Peterson, Allen Borman and Alvin Borman. The Hughes Funeral Home, Hallock, was in charge of arrangements.
