Southern Illinoisan, Carbondale, Illinois, Friday, July 20, 1962, Page 8, Col. 4: Mr. Lumsden Dies, Funeral To Be Saturday, For Zeigler Resident. William "Bill" Lumsden, 74, of 211 Pine St., Zeigler, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Herrin Hospital. He had been a patient one day.

Mr. Lumsden, a retired coal miner, was an active member of the Zeigler First Methodist Church and a past commander of the Zeigler American Legion Post. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Marion, and United Mine Workers Local 9018.

Mr. Lumsden was born June 28, 1888, in Buena Vista, Pa. He leaves his wife, Stella; a stepson, Marion Mygatte of East Alton, a foster daughter, Mrs. Louis Motter of Edwardsville; brothers James and Robert of McKeesport, Pa.; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Zeigler First Methodist Church. The Rev. Vernon Brown, church pastor, and the Rev. Smith Williamson of West Frankfort, former church pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Zeigler Cemetery.
