Mount Vernon Register News, Mount Vernon, Illinois, Friday March 10, 1972, Page 2, Col. 1: Mrs Nancy Mae Baker, 79, of Route 1, Sesser, died Thursday night at Franklin Hospital in Benton. A lifelong resident of Franklin county, Mrs. Baker was born on Jan. 9, 1893, the daughter of Matthew and Melissa (Kirkpatrick) Cockrum. She was married to Walter Baker, Sr., who died in 1944.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Church of Christ in Sesser, with Brother Don Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the Brayfield Funeral Home in Sesser after 4:00 p.m.
Mrs. Baker is survived by one son, Walter Baker Jr., Sesser; one daughter, Mrs. Christina Sigwerth, Benton; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Trilby Bradley, Sesser.
