Prescott---Mrs. Edith Kirkpatrick, about 68, was found dead on the floor of the living room of her home here by a neighbor this morning. She had died of a heart attack and Adams county coroner, J. P. Arnold said her death probably had occurred Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was last seen alive by a neighbor Tuesday afternoon as she was hanging curtains to dry in the yard. When the neighbor saw the curtains still on the line this morning she became alarmed and investigated, finding Mrs. Kirkpatrick's body. Mrs. Kirkpatrick lived alone in her home but spent much of her time visiting with sons in Creston, Winterset, Omaha and Greenfield. She had returned home from a visit in Creston Saturday. She had lived in Prescott for many years.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Velma Windsor in California; five sons, D. L. Kirkpatrick, 321 south Walnut street, Creston; Kenneth of Winterset, Ora [Orris] in Idaho, Willis of Omaha, Nebr., and Floyd of Greenfield; and a number of grandchildren Her husband died several years ago. Her body was taken to the Roland funeral home at Corning. No inquest will be held, Coroner Arnold said. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Morris, Illinois, May 16, 1878. She came to Adams County Iowa with her parents at the age of 5 years, where she has since made her home.
To this union 7 children were born. She is survived by the following children, Mrs. Velma Swinford, Redland [s], California, Willis H. of Omaha, Nebr., Forest and Dwight of Creston, Iowa, Kenneth of Winterset, Iowa and Orris of Idaho Falls, Idaho. A son Harold preceded her in death. She also had 21 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. He husband passed away a number of years ago.
She also leaves to mourn her passing four sisters and four brothers, they are Mrs. Louis McClure, Decatur, Ia., Mrs. Alvin Krueger, Bozeman, Montana, Mrs. Weaver Cooper, Corning, Iowa, and Mrs. Wilbur Johnston, Nodaway, Iowa, Walter Knodle, Maryville, Missouri, Glen D., Bozeman, Montana, Lee Roy, Fort Collins, Colorado, and Ralph E. of Lenox, Iowa. She united with the Carl M. E. church when young.
She was a kind and loving mother, always ready to lend a helping hand and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A short service was held at the home Saturday preceding the funeral. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist church in Carl, with Rev. Bloomquist of Corning in charge. Burial was in the Carl Cemetery. Pall bearers were her sons, Willis, Orris, Kenneth, Forest and Dwight, and her brother, Ralph Knodle.
