Neuman, 64, of 1201 Bishop Ave., La Porte City, Iowa, were held at 10 am. Monday, January 12, 1987 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Porte City, Iowa, with Rev. Fr. Bernard G. Collins, pastor, officiating. Rosary services were held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Huisman Funeral Home.
Mrs. Neuman died Saturday morning, Jan. 10, 1987 at Covenant Medical Center, Ninth St., in Waterloo of cancer. She was born June 23, 1922 the daughter of George K. Baych and Mary Kundy Baych of Oelwein, Iowa. On June 20, 1940 she was married to Walter G. Neuman in Oelwein. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church of La Porte City, the Rosary Society and St. Rita's Circle.
Survivors include four sons, Jerry, Vinton, Ia., Lawrence, Waterloo, Ia., John, Athens, Michigan, and Tom, La Porte City; four daughters, Gloria Stout, St. Louis, Mo., Nancy McFarland, La Porte City, Ia., Carol Pettengill, Moorhead, Minn., and Patty Martin, also of Moorhead; 16 grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Baych, Waterloo, Ia., John Baych, Cedar Rapids, Ia.; four sisters, Mary Bathke, Hazelton, Ia., Stella Benefiel, Waterloo, Annie Slater, Waterloo, and Babe Fox, also of Waterloo, Ia. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Michael; four brothers, Lawrence, Louis, Joseph and Charles; one grandson, Mark.
Pallbearers were Leslie Baych, Jim Jungling, Ron Moody, Jim Neuman, Gary Purdy, and Lee Purdy. Interment was in West View Cemetery of La Porte City. Huisman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
