John Samuel Parrott

Parrott 62, practicing physician in Pineville for thirty years, died yesterday in the Oak Ridge, Tenn., hospital. He was a member of the Bell County Board of Education, and active in Bell Lodge number 691 f. and A. M. and served one term as magistrate.
Funeral services will be held at the east Jelico Baptist Church tomorrow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Raymond Sanders and John Partin officiating. Burial will be in a Barbourville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be W. S. Dean, Claude Slusher, Charlie Jackson, George Bill McGaffee, Charles Edgar Dean, Bob Brown, Freddie Jackson and Porter Ellis. Honorary pallbearers will be member of the Bell County Medical Association, members the Board of Education, Bell County.
Dr. Parrott is survived by his wife, Zella Lee Parrott; one son, John; two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Russell and Evelyn Goodin, Pineville; one sister, Miss Molly Parrott, Pineville; three brothers, Dr. T. E. Parrott, Lyda, Ky., W. M. Parrott, Tedders, Ky., Lester L. Parrott, Barboursville; ten grandchildren. The Durham Funeral Home is in charge.
