The Claremore Daily Progress, Claremore, Oklahoma, Thursday, August 16, 2007: Services for Bonnie Mae Norman will be 10 a.m, Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at Memorial Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Rice Funeral Service. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Bonnie passed away on Monday, Aug. 13. She was 78.

Born July 6, 1929, in Eufaula to Claude and Julia (Cowan) Armstrong, Bonnie was reared and educated in her birth community. In 1945 she and Gene Norman were united in marriage and two sons blessed this union and the family made Claremore their home throughout the years.

With a compassionate and caring heart, Bonnie's job as a caretaker at the hospital came as second nature to her. She was always thinking of others before herself. This was even more evident in her ability to make each of her grand and great grand children feel they were very special. She loved spending lots of time with them; to her, it was all about family.

This kind and wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend will be missed by all who knew her. Those who survive are her sons Wrenly Gene Norman and wife Sherry of Oologah, and Roger Norman and wife Pam of Claremore, her grandchildren, Daina Norman of Tulsa, Robert Norman, Kathy Lahmeyer and husband James all of Claremore, Yvonne New and husband Matt of Tulsa, Jennifer Norman also of Claremore, Orval Norman of Oologah and Whitney Norman of Oklahoma City; her great grandchildren, Jordan, Brad, Payton and Cameron Lahmeyer all of Claremore and Casey Maze of Broken Arrow; and her brother Earl Dene Armstrong of Porum. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Louis [Lois] Freeman, brothers, Clifford, Curtis, Glenn and L.C. Armstrong and three infant siblings.
