Genevieve Miriam was born on October 15, 1927, in Hamilton, Montana, the daughter of Louis and Ruth (Pierce) Wolfe. She was raised in the area, and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1945. Genevieve was united in marriage to Kenneth Grondahl in 1946. Five children were born to this union. They later divorced. Genevieve worked for the government as a civil service secretary. Genevieve was married to James Tinkey in 1975. Together they lived in California until they retired to Strawberry Point in 1994. Genevieve passed away at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood on Saturday, July 19, 2008, following a brief illness. She was eighty years of age. Genevieve enjoyed baking, cooking, playing the piano, fishing, hunting, and she was an avid baseball fan with her favorite teams being the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves. She was a member of the Rainbow Girls, Eastern Star, and A.A. Survivors include her husband, James Tinkey of Edgewood; her five children, Robert (Joyce) Grondahl of Tacoma, Washington, Kenneth (Claudia) Grondahl, Jr. of San Jose, California, Steven (Sheryl) Grondahl of Cottonwood, California, Melanie Grondahl of Manchester, and Mark (Cindy) Grondahl of Grants Pass, Oregon; three step-children, Jimmy (Marcie) Tinkey of Aurora, Colorado, Michael Tinkey of California, and Denise Tinkey of Gold Hill, Oregon; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several step grandchildren. Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents and a sister in infancy.
