According to his Missouri death certificate, Chester was a son of George Young and Dora Troutman Young. He married Bessie Viola Link on November 15, 1913 in Carter Co., MO and they had 2 children, Albert Paul (b. 1915) and Lucille (b. 1919). Bessie died on January 11, 1924 of complications following gallbladder surgery. Following Bessie's death, Chester married Attie Hilterbrand who was a widow with 3 sons. Chester and Attie had 1 daughter, Cleo.
The Current Local, Van Buren, Missouri, May 7, 1959, Front Page, Col. 4: Chester Young Was Buried Here Saturday. Chester Young, 64-year-old resident of Van Buren, died Wednesday night of last week at his home here. He had been in ill health for some time because of a heart condition. Mr. Young was a native of Carter County, and had resided here for the past 15 years, and served as custodian at the school for a number of years. He was also a former agent for the Daily American Republic. He is survived by his widow, Attie; one son, Paul Young of Searcy, Ark.; two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Kitchen of St. Louis and Mrs. Cleo Coleman of Van Buren; four step sons, Clint Hilterbrand of Ellsinore, Ray Hilterbrand of Ellington and Willard and Wayne Hilterbrand of Van Buren; three sister, Mrs. Byron Farris of Van Buren; Mrs. Dave Miller of Van Buren and Mrs. Tom Lastbury [Lasbury] of St. Louis and a brother, Charles Long of Mill Spring. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. R. E. Fowler officiating. Burial was in the Van Buren Cemetery under the direction of McSpadden Funeral Home. Masonic graveside services were held. Pall bearers were Clarence Stephens, Frank Gaines, Roy Wilson, E. R. Burrows, Bob Adams and Bill McClintock.
