The Carter County News, Ellsinore, Missouri, Thursday, February 22, 1923, Page 1, Col. 5: Uncle Geo. Young Dead. Uncle Geo Young, age 77 years died Friday night at the home of his son Chester on Elm Branch. Mr. Young was one among the oldest citizens of this county. He leaves besides his aged wife three sons, Chas. of St. Louis, Preston and Chester of Ellsinore, five daughters, Mrs. L. Laturbury [Lasbury] and Mrs. Earl Ham of St. Louis, Mrs. Dave Miller, Mrs. Lee Link and Mrs. Hy Ketcherside of Ellsinore, all were present at the funeral which was held at the Gresham Cemetery* where interment took place Monday. Mr. Young died after a lingering illness of about one month. His wife who has been very sick for the past two or three weeks is not expected to live as we go to press.
