Posted at findagrave.com: Nellie M. Hays was born August 1, 1938 in Jackson County and departed this life Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at her residence, being 72 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Ernest & Daisy (Turner) Casteel.
Nellie is survived by her husband, James H. Hays, II of McKee and by four children, James H. Hays, III and wife Pam of McKee, William Hays of London, Doug Hays and wife Debbie of Nicholasville and Aimee Potter of Richmond. She is also survived by one brother, Clifford Casteel of Richmond. She was blessed with ten grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Nellie was also preceded in death by one sister- Dorothy Combs and by three brothers- Harold, Reo & George Casteel.
Nellie was a member of the McKee Reformed Church and attended the Bayshore Gardens Community Church while in Florida.
Funeral service was held 8:00 PM Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the McKee Reformed Church with Bro. Calvin Hays officiating. Burial was in the Phillips Cemetery. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.lakesfuneralhomemckee.com
