James H. Hays Jr.

Posted at findagrave.com: James H. Hays II was born January 31, 1927 in Jackson County and departed this life Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at his residence in McKee, being 87 years of age. He was the son of the late James H. Hays Sr. and Effie (Martin) Hays.
Jim is survived by three sons, James H. Hays III and his wife Pam of McKee, KY, William Franklin Hays and his wife Alicia of London, KY and Doug Hays and his wife Debbie of Nicholasville and by one daughter, Aimee Louise Potter of Richmond, KY. Jim was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Mona (Lawhorn) Hays. Later in life he married Nellie (Casteel) Hays who also preceded him in death.
Jim was an officer of the Jackson County Bank for nearly 60 years and served as President of Jackson Bank for 35 years. He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky as well as being a veteran in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a cable pioneer, starting one of the first community antenna systems in Kentucky in 1951. Jim was a long time member of the McKee Reformed Church and later a member of the Bay Shore Gardens Community Church in Florida.
Graveside services were held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Phillips Cemetery at Three Links with Bro. Calvin Hays officiating. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.lakesfuneralhomemckee.com
