Stevens, Wylie (Chip) Calvert, III, 57, of Peoria, Arizona passed away on November 6, 2012. Chip graduated from Mary Carroll High School, in Corpus Christi, Texas and was an outstanding baseball pitcher and first baseman. Chip attended Wharton Jr College on a baseball scholarship. Chip graduated from Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he met and married Lollie LaVelle Emerson. Chip served in the United States Air Force from August 1978 thru August 1998. During Chip's Air Force career, he earned the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Training Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service, Air Force Honor Graduate Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon/Rifle, Non Commissioned Officer Professional Military Education Ribbon, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, and Air Force Good Conduct Medal. After his retirement from military services, he was employed by the City of Phoenix, as a Fuel Management Specialist, where he served from August 1998 till July 2011. He enjoyed working for the City of Phoenix where he met many of his long-time friends. Chip was survived by his wife of 37 years, Lollie LaVelle Emerson Stevens, his daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Joseph Reed, and one grandson, Nathaniel Joseph Reed.
