Corpus Christi Caller-Times, June 6, 1994, Page B 4: After a long and distinguished career as a business consultant, college professor and talented professional photographer, Wylie C. Stevens, Jr., 71, passed away June 4, 1994 at his home surrounded by his loved ones after a prolonged illness. Born in Elaine, Arkansas he served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He adopted Texas as his home in 1956 and had resided in Corpus Christi for the past 34 years. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary D. Stevens, his daughter and son-in-law, George and Kathy Bexley and their daughters, Ariana and Sheavon and his son, Wylie Stevens, III and his wife, Lollie and their daughter Angela. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 6, 1994 at South Bluff Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make a Memorial Donation in his name to Spohn Hospice, 600 Elizabeth, Corpus Christi TX 78404. In addition the family is requesting that letters be sent to your congressman and/or senator requesting the elimination of the use of Federal tax dollars to subsidize the tobacco industry.
