He retired from Kentucky Department of Highways, where he was a truck driver in Caldwell County. He was a member of Union Grove General Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Rosie Mae (Payne); two daughters, Suzette Young of Princeton and Gloria Stewart of Caldwell County; two brothers, Richard of Oklahoma City and Norman of Rombauer, Mo.; a half brother, Carroll of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two stepbrothers, Gene and Herschel Smith, both of Eugene, Ore.; and a stepgrandchild. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Morgan's Funeral Home, with burial in Perry Cemetery in Caldwell County. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
