Carroll Chronister, 81, of Poplar Bluff, MO died Saturday March 10, 2012 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Chronister was born November 3, 1930 in Butler County MO. He graduated from Fisk High School in 1948 and had served in the Air Force from 1948 until 1968. After retiring from the Air Force he worked for the Missouri Department of Employment Service for 21 years. He was a 32 degree Mason and member of the Poplar Bluff Masonic Lodge. He received his 50 year pin in 2007. He married Janice Kaye Bostic on July 1, 1967 at Fisk, MO. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, John Chronister and wife Jan of Poplar Bluff, MO and Lt. Col. Phillip Chronister and wife Heather of Minot AFB, ND; one brother, Warren Eugene Smith of Selah, Washington; four grandchildren, Jacob and Emma Chronister of Poplar Bluff, MO and Mark and Audra Chronister of Minot AFB, ND. Mr. Chronister was preceded in death by his parents John Davis Chronister and Lottie Potillo Chronister; four brothers, Norman, Richard and Glen Chronister and Herschel Smith; one sister, Muriel Ellen Chronister. There will be a Masonic Service at 5 PM Tuesday followed by the visitation at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. The funeral service will be at 11 AM on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Hamtown Cemetery at Poplar Bluff, MO with full military honors.
