Mrs. Dessie Dees, 68, of Christopher died at 8 a.m. Thursday after a long illness. She was a lifetime resident of Franklin County and was employed by Central Illinois Public Service Co., Christopher for 39 years. She retired in 1956. She was born Nov. 20, 1895, in Christopher, the daughter of Leroy and Nancy Flowers Kirkpatrick. She was a member of the Christopher South Side Baptist Church. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Uneeda Lewis of Christopher; grandchildren, James Sneddon of Chicago and Jane Sneedon of Christopher; a brother, Hobert Kirkpatrick of Christopher; and sisters, Mrs. Bessie Sullivan of Christopher and Mrs. Effie Speegle of West Frankfort. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Russell Funeral Home, Christopher. Rev. Eugene Fox will officiate. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
