Batavia---Mrs. Minerva Vieta Rowland, 65, widow of George Rowland, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. L. Brewington two miles northeast of Agency at 11:30 p.m. Friday after being in poor health since 1930. She died suddenly of a heart attack. Mrs. Rowland was born in Salina, Kan., and came this community when four years old. She had resided in this area since then. She was married to Ira W. Mace in 1895 and after Mr. Mace's death she was married to George Rowland in 1898. She had been a member of the Christian church at Agency for many years. She is survived by seven children, Mrs. Veda Canny of Eldon, Mrs. Lela Brewington of Agency, Mrs. Mabel Horton of Beardstown, Ill., and Mrs. Audrey Nevins of Moline, Ill., Mrs. Dale Allbright of Des Moines, Mrs. Marjorie Coffman of Agency and Lester Rowland of Agency; her mother, Mrs. Mary Bailey of Agency and three sisters, Mrs. Annie Lynn of Agency, Mrs. Gertie Wycoff of Ottumwa and Mrs. Evan Askron of Bakersfield, Calif. Funeral services will be held at the Agency Methodist Episcopal church Monday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Agency cemetery. The body will be taken from the Campbell funeral home here to the home of Lester Rowland at Agency Sunday at 10 a.m.
