Everett Leo Steward

Daily American Republic, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Monday, August 14, 1989: Everett L. Steward, 77, died at 7:40 p.m. Sunday at his rural Poplar Bluff home. A farmer, he had been sick for five months. He was born July 8, 1912 in Butler County, and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was married to Muriel Chronister on Dec. 9, 1934, in Poplar Bluff, and she survives. Also surviving are three children. Wayne Steward of Paradise, Texas, and Steven E Steward and Carolyn Lance, both of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Maylan Henry of Los Angeles and Kathryn Host of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Cotrell Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. David Hill officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Visitation will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
