Daily American Republic, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, April 28, 1980, Page 16: John Thurman Foster, 72, Fisk, died Saturday at Lucy Lee Hospital. He was in ill health for one year. He was a retired farmer and factory worker. Mr. Foster was born Nov. 1, 1907, at Asherville. In 1930 he married Janevee Ham at Rombauer. She survives. He had lived in the Fisk area for 16 years and formerly lived at Dupo, Ill. He was a member of Fisk General Baptist Church. Also surviving are three daughters Mrs. J. T. (Maxine) Fisher and Peggy Mattingly, both of Fisk, and Mrs. Ronald (Glenda Lee) Napier of Mahwah, N. J.; three sons, John F. Foster of Granite City, Ill., Rady [Randy] R. Foster of Dayce, La., and James T. Foster of Dupo, Ill.; one brother, Ralph Foster of Fisk; one sister, Mrs. Warren (Nellie) Casper of Fisk; 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at White's Funeral chapel at Fisk. The Rev. Chester Ham will officiate. Burial will be in Rombauer Cemetery. Visitation was scheduled to begin at 5 this afternoon at the funeral home.
