Funeral services for Earnest Turman, retired Chickasaw county farmer, who died at 8 am, Monday, Dec. 5, at The Houston Hospital, were conducted from the Church of Christ on N.. Jackson St., at 2 pm, Tuesday with Charles Bland, minister, officiating. Burial was in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery with Houston Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Turman, a World War I veteran, was born March 21, 1895 (what is typed in the newspaper), the son of William E Turman and Sue Wagoner Turman. He was 71 and had resided in this county for 36 years. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Willie Mae Turman; a son, Jack Turman of Crystal Springs; a daughter, Mrs. Frances Louise Clark of Tucson, Ariz.; a half brother, John Vance of Batesville, and three grandchildren.
