Daily American Republic, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, December 24, 2003: Ruth Brown Warren, 98, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare North Campus in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Warren was born Sept. 22, 1905, in the Ham Town area of Butler County. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. She was an extraordinary homemaker, who loved, sewing, cooking and flowers. On July 11, 1931, she married Dewey Grant [Brown]. He preceded her in death Dec. 9, 1963. On Sept. 4, 1979, she married Wendell Warren in New Port Richey, Fla. He survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Virginia Rose Fenn of Franklin, N.C.; one sister, Imogene Knap of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Paul Inman of Doniphan; two daughters-in-law, Janie Darbyshire of Irvine, Calif. and Maurine Brown of Columbia; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Mattie (Whiffen) Inman; three sons, Charles B. Brown, Thomas T. Brown and Buster Brown; four brothers and one sister. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Byron Beck officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
