Obituary from Sikeston Herald, June 28, 1956: Judge Kirkpatrick Dies. Charleston---Judge Charles E. Kirkpatrick, 85, municipal judge here for 25 years until he resigned in March, died Monday morning at 9;30 at St. Mary's Hospital, Cairo. He death occurred only an hour after his admittance. He was a member of the Blue Lodge here 50 years and was a member of the Royal Arch Chapter. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel Kirkpatrick of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Ray Bryan of Tampa, Fla., and Mrs. Katherine Edwards of Indianapolis, Ind. Services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, Dr. Alfred Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
